Which format do I need?

CODE128 encodes any text and is the default for internal inventory and logistics. EAN-13 / UPC-A are the retail formats on product packaging (the last digit is a checksum — enter 12/11 digits and it is calculated, or the full number to validate). ITF-14 is used on shipping cartons.
