Cookie policy

This page explains the cookies and similar technologies used on santoshtec.com, what
each is for, and how to turn them off. It sits alongside the
privacy policy, which covers data handling more broadly.
First, what cookies are not used for
No cookie on this site has anything to do with the documents you process. Your files are handled entirely within your browser's memory and are never uploaded, so there is no file data to store in a cookie, associate with an identifier, or transmit anywhere. Clearing every cookie on this site would not affect how any tool works.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store, and which your browser sends back on later visits. It lets a site recognise a returning browser. Related technologies — local storage, web beacons, pixels — do similar things by different means, and are covered by this policy too.
The categories used here
Strictly necessary
Cookies and local storage required for basic operation — remembering a dismissed notice, for example, or a display preference. These hold no personal data and are not used for tracking. They cannot be disabled through a consent choice because the site's basic behaviour depends on them, but your browser can block them if you prefer.
Analytics
Set by Google Analytics 4, to understand which pages are visited and which tools people actually use, so that development effort goes somewhere useful. These record page views, approximate location at country level, device type and referring source. They record nothing about your documents.
Advertising
This site is funded by advertising and uses Google AdSense. Google and its partners set cookies to serve advertisements, to limit how many times you see the same ad, and — where personalised advertising is enabled — to select ads based on your browsing across this and other sites.
Google's DoubleClick DART cookie is one such cookie. It may be used to serve ads based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
Other advertising vendors may also serve ads here and set their own cookies. This site does not control those cookies, and their behaviour is governed by each vendor's own policies.
How to control cookies
Opt out of personalised advertising
These links change how ads are chosen without needing to contact anyone:
- Google Ads Settings — turn off ad personalisation across Google's services.
- aboutads.info/choices — opt out across participating vendors (Digital Advertising Alliance).
- Network Advertising Initiative opt-out — opt out across NAI member networks.
- Your Online Choices — the European equivalent.
Opting out does not remove advertising. It means the advertisements you see are chosen without using your browsing history, so they become less relevant rather than less frequent.
Block cookies in your browser
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, usually under Settings → Privacy. Most also offer a private or incognito mode that discards cookies when the window closes, and a "block third-party cookies" setting that stops advertising cookies specifically while leaving ordinary site function intact.
Blocking all cookies from this site will not break any tool here. Everything on this site works with cookies fully disabled.
Browser tracking protection
Firefox's Enhanced Tracking Protection, Safari's Intelligent Tracking Prevention, and the built-in shields in Brave all restrict advertising cookies by default. If you use one of these, much of the above is already applied on your behalf.
Consent
Where the law requires consent before non-essential cookies are set — in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and some other jurisdictions — a consent notice is shown before advertising and analytics cookies are placed, and your choice is respected and can be changed at any time through your browser settings or the opt-out links above.
Changes
If the cookies used here change, this page and the date at its top will be updated.
