Privacy Policy

The short version

Your documents are never uploaded to this site. Every PDF tool here runs entirely inside your browser using your own device's processor and memory. Files you select are read locally, processed locally, and returned to you locally. No copy of any document you work on is transmitted, received, stored, logged or seen by anyone operating this site.

That is the most important thing on this page, and it is verifiable rather than promised. Open your browser's developer tools, select the Network tab, and use any tool: no upload request will appear. Or load a tool page, disconnect from the internet, and process a file anyway — it still works, because nothing was ever going anywhere.

What follows covers the ordinary web-analytics and advertising data that this site, like most ad-supported sites, does involve.

Who operates this site

SantoshTec PDF is operated by Santosh Khatiwada, an individual software developer based in Nepal. There is no company, no team and no third-party processor handling your documents. For any privacy question, the contact is santoshtec.com@gmail.com.

What is never collected

The contents of any PDF, image or text file you use with a tool on this site.
The names, sizes or page counts of your files.
Signatures you draw in the signing tool. These exist only in the browser tab and are discarded when the page is closed or reloaded.
Text extracted by the text tool, or metadata read by the metadata tool.
Account details — there are no accounts, and nothing here asks you to register.

None of this is collected because none of it is ever sent. The architecture makes collection impossible rather than merely prohibited, which is a stronger guarantee than any policy wording.

What is collected

Server logs

This site is hosted on conventional web hosting, which keeps standard access logs like every web server. These record the page requested, the time, the referring page, your browser's user-agent string and your IP address. They are used for security and to diagnose problems, and are retained for a short period by the hosting provider. They contain no information about your files.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are visited and which tools are used, so that effort goes where it is useful. It records page views, approximate country, device type and referring source, all in aggregate. It never records anything about the documents you process, because that information does not exist outside your browser.

Advertising

This site is funded by advertising and uses Google AdSense to serve it. This is what makes it possible to provide every tool free, with no limits, no watermarks and no account.

Regarding advertising, you should know:

Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve advertisements on this site.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
You can opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices or optout.networkadvertising.org.
Third-party vendors and ad networks may also serve ads on this site and may use their own cookies. This site does not control those cookies, and their use is governed by the privacy policies of the vendors concerned.

Local storage in your browser

Some pages may store small preferences, such as a dismissed notice, in your browser's local storage. This never leaves your device and can be cleared at any time through your browser's settings. No file content is ever stored this way.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over personal data held about you — including the right to know what is held, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. This includes rights under the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation, and under the California Consumer Privacy Act.

Because this site holds no accounts and no documents, the data these rights apply to is limited to the analytics and advertising data described above. To exercise a right, email santoshtec.com@gmail.com with a clear description of your request. Responses are provided within thirty days.

You can also act directly: browser settings let you block or delete cookies, and the opt-out links above stop personalised advertising at source without needing to contact anyone.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and no personal information is knowingly collected from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact me and it will be removed.

International visitors

This site is operated from Nepal and hosted on infrastructure that may be located elsewhere. Advertising and analytics providers operate globally. Your documents are not affected by any of this, because they never leave your device — the question of where they are processed does not arise.

Links to other sites

Some pages link to external sites and resources. This policy does not cover them. When you follow a link, the destination site's own privacy policy applies.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page will be updated and the change described here. Continued use of the site after a change indicates acceptance of the revised policy.

One thing will not change: documents processed with the tools on this site will never be uploaded. That is the point of the site, not a current implementation detail.
