These terms govern your use of SantoshTec PDF at santoshtec.com, operated by Santosh Khatiwada. By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

What this service is

This site provides free tools for working with PDF files. All of them run inside your web browser using your own device's resources. No file you process is transmitted to, stored on, or accessible from any server operated by this site.

This has an important practical consequence: this site holds no copy of your work. If you lose a document, overwrite an original, or close the browser tab before downloading a result, it cannot be recovered by anyone, including me. Keep your original files.

Free use, and what that means

The tools are free to use for personal and commercial purposes. There are no page limits, no daily quotas, no watermarks and no account requirement. You may use the output of these tools — the PDFs you create — for any lawful purpose, commercial or otherwise. Documents you process remain entirely yours; using this site grants no rights over them to anyone.

The service is provided without charge and without any commitment as to its continued availability. Tools may be changed, added or withdrawn, and the site may be taken offline, without notice.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use this site to:

Process documents you have no legal right to access or modify.
Create documents intended to deceive — forged identity papers, falsified records, fraudulent invoices or receipts, or documents that impersonate another person or organisation.
Infringe anyone's copyright or other intellectual property rights.
Circumvent technical protections on a document, or attempt to defeat access controls you are not authorised to bypass.
Attempt to disrupt the site, or to access parts of the hosting infrastructure not intended for public use.
Copy the site's code or content to operate a competing service, other than as permitted below.

Because processing happens on your device, there is no technical means of monitoring or blocking misuse. These restrictions rest on your undertaking, and responsibility for how you use the tools is entirely yours.

Intellectual property

The design, written content, guides and original code of this site are the property of Santosh Khatiwada and are protected by copyright. You may not republish substantial portions of the written content without permission. Short quotations with clear attribution and a link are welcome.

The tools rely on open-source libraries, principally pdf-lib and PDF.js, which remain the property of their respective authors and are used under their own licences.

Documents you process are yours. Nothing in these terms transfers any right in them.

No warranty

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.

Specifically, no warranty is given that:

The tools will produce a result suitable for your purpose.
Output files will be accepted by any third-party system, portal or recipient.
Processing will preserve every feature of a source document. Certain features — bookmarks, interactive form fields, embedded attachments — are not carried through by some operations, and this is documented on the relevant tool pages.
The site will be available, uninterrupted, or free of errors.

Always verify the output before relying on it. Open the file, check it reads correctly, and confirm nothing important is missing — particularly for documents being submitted formally, signed, or sent to a third party.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Santosh Khatiwada shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages arising from your use of this site, including loss of data, loss of profits, business interruption, or the rejection of a document by any recipient or authority.

Because this service is provided free of charge, total liability for any claim arising from its use is limited to zero, except where such limitation is prohibited by applicable law.

This does not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Advertising

This site displays advertising through Google AdSense and may display ads from other networks. Advertisements are not endorsements. Any dealings you have with an advertiser are between you and that advertiser. See the privacy policy and cookie policy for how advertising data is handled.

Third-party links

This site links to external resources. Those sites are not under my control, and I am not responsible for their content, their availability, or their privacy practices.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated. The date at the top of this page indicates the current version. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Nepal. Where mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence gives you rights that cannot be excluded by agreement, those rights are unaffected.
